I've hit on a way to get a bit more out of drip coffee machine

I've been expiramenting with pouring some water into stove pot to boil when prepping to simulate a pour over setup. I pour rest of water in machine reservoir, leaving coffee pot aside. Once the stove top water boils, I pour it all into the machine basket with the grounds and let it bloom for 20-30 seconds before replacing the pot to let the fluid drip down. Once that's done, I turn machine on for the rest. I do see that more fine bean residue is present so it looks like I'm extracting more oil from the grounds for sure.
